Friday FIVE!

It's Friday! Woot! And it's time for the Friday Five hop over at Jesse's Spot! Now there are two really good things about Friday. First- it's FRIDAY! Second- Friday Five!

Of course, Jessica is having BIG FUN at Disney with her family. But I'm putting this up anyway. I'll link it when she gets it up for us!

Ok- my Friday Five this week is quite random---cause that's how my mind works anymore.

I have a couple of friends who teach at the college level. I have a fun game back and forth with one about the perks of teaching elementary school vs college. She sends me pictures of really good looking men. I send her pictures of cupcakes loaded with icing that students with birthdays share with me.

I co-hosted a bridal shower for my bestie's daughter. We had a great time and everything was as close to perfect as it could be. BUT, I discovered that I am a control freak. Although things were fantastic, it wasn't at my house and I wasn't the only in charge person. I didn't like that. I like being in charge. And in control. AND, I'm ok with that. (I might as well be, apparently, I'm not going to change.)

Someone was 'talking' about doing something nice/kind/good/thoughtful for some homeless folks. This person mentioned that "doing something like this makes me feel good." And I had to wonder if that was the right motivation for helping anyone at all. Then again, maybe I'm just anal about 'checking my motivation' behind everything I do. I've been doing this for years. And yes, I realize that when I start questioning other people's motivation I'm overstepping and judging. But, when it's put out there like this was....well, I just can't help myself. I don't like to do things for anyone because it makes me feel good about myself. I don't consider that a good motivation. See? Anal about it.

Even though I have tons of energy on my running days, I'm still grateful for Trader Joe's organic espresso blend on non-running days. Dang but it's draining trying to keep up with elementary students. Physically AND mentally. :)

One of DoodleBug's roomies gave me a tear off desk calendar for Christmas. It's based on the television show Modern Family. She gave it to me because Modern Family is one television show I won't miss. For any reason. I am having a blast with that thing and so are some of the other folks at school. Now I'm finding it difficult not to just flip through the thing and read all of the days! But I'm not. I'm trying to savor each and every day's little chuckle.

On Valentine's Day:
Cam: Notice that I have not eaten any of the chocolates.
Mitchell: There were two levels. You know it, and I know it.

On February 15:
Mitchell (to Lily): Wow. Isn't this beautiful, little cowgirl?
Cam: You hate her sparkly outfit, don't you?
Mitchell: No, I told you, it's fine. I just didn't like you wearing a matching one.

On February 25:
Claire: Trust me on this.
Haley: Oh, yes, because you are always right.
Claire: Sweetheart, I would love to be wrong. I just don't live with the right people for that.
(and I might have said something similar to that in the past...can I get an AMEN?!)

You know how they run all the Oscar winners and nominees on TCM during Oscar season? I've come to realize that I like very few of those movies. Apparently, I'm more of a fan of those left out of the selection process.

Ok, I might have gone over my 5 minutes. Sometimes I just have a lot on my mind. Most of the time, though, it's just the crickets up there.

Have a marvelous weekend, y'all!
