Are You Winning?

(Stay with me, y'all. There's a giveaway after the blahblahblah.)

I'm just going to say it right here, right now: I love to win! I can turn just about anything into a competition and I LOVELOVELOVE to win whatever it is. DRIVES. ME. NUTS.

Wait, what? Why does it drive me nuts? Because I am DRIVEN to win. I MUST win. And, when I don't, I am not that happy about it. I am not one of those 'sore loser but worse winner' types. I don't mope and say mean things or throw something in the direction of the winner when I lose. I keep my unhappiness to myself. But it's there. Because I LOVELOVELOVE to win. You won't see me lording a win over the loser(s) either. Because that's not nice. Ok, because I'm afraid if I do, it'll be revisited on me and I'll lose next time.

Of course, we're all winning with this little cutie:

Grandma is crazy. She's always trying to find a way to include me in her posts.

ANYWAY--

Today's the day I'm going to give y'all a chance to win something! WooHoo! Let's get excited! We'll start today, let this thing run through Friday the 10th, and I'll announce the winner on Saturday the 11th. (Just wait til y'all see how I include that little cutie pie up there in this part!)

The only thing you need to do to enter is let me know in the comments which set you would like to have. Your choices:

Coastal Bird Set:

Curly Sun Set:

Fruit Set:

That's it! I like to keep it simple, don't y'all?

Of course, if you'd like to hop over to CoasterDoodles and favorite the shop, I wouldn't mind. :) But this not necessary to enter to win a set of coasters!

This giveaway is for one set of coasters. I'll host another one for a set of note cards in a couple of weeks. :)

Compelled To Be Competitive

That's me. I'm like that. I've been like that my whole life.

Losing is just something I do NOT like to do.

I don't like to lose when I'm playing a game of any kind. I don't like the team I'm pulling for to lose. I don't want the candidate I'm voting for to lose. I don't even like to lose a heated debate.

And yet, I'm ALWAYS up for a CHALLENGE

When I was really little, I was probably one of those kids who would take her ball home if things weren't going my way. I don't recall being like that. But I probably was.Though I'm not quite that bad now.

As a matter of fact, I'm very proud to say that I've gotten much better in my method of accepting a loss. I am capable, now, of keeping my disappointment to myself. Sort of. As long as you can't read my face or my body language. At least I don't carry on like a lunatic anymore.

Mostly.

Now, I'm COMPETING (blatantly) for donations for RELAY FOR LIFE. I'm doing it for the first time this year with school.

It was just something I felt COMPELLED to do for a couple of reasons:
  • My dad has just completed (successfully) treatment for prostate cancer
  • the husband's parents lost their fight with cancer
  • our family's dedication to cancer prevention
  • my focus on the importance of fitness and nutrition in fighting and preventing cancer
  • the fact that I hate cancer and want to do all I can to prevent anyone, anywhere from ever suffering with it again. EVER.
  • the fact that CANCER SUCKS
But now, it seems that several teammates are trying to really get competitive in regards to donations. Really? No problem.

So, because of my COMPETITIVE nature, I have to add one more reason to the list above:
  • I WANT TO HAVE THE MOST DONATIONS.
And I am NOT ashamed.

So, IF you feel so COMPELLED, feel free to follow THIS LINK to my page at Relay for Life and donate.
FYI- the donations go straight to Relay for Life NOT to me!

I'm linking this post to the third post of the April, A-Z Challenge!

Just click the badge below and see what everyone else came up with for the letter 'C'.

Ok, let's see what y'all came up with for the letter 'C'!

Losing

I don't care for it. Most people know that about me.

I don't like to lose when I'm playing a game of any kind. I don't like the team I'm pulling for to lose. I don't the candidate I'm voting for to lose. I don't even like to lose a heated debate.

Or make the body language really easy to read.

Mostly.

However. As much as I hate losing, I am no where near as bad as Hubs used to be. And he's an even worse winner. When I win, I'm content with the win itself. I do not have the need to rub anyone's face in it. The win, in my opinion, speaks for itself. No so for the husband that lives in this house.

In all our years- 28- I've played Monopoly with him once. Just once. He won. Bad enough. But then he proceeded to rub that win in my face. Huge mistake. HUGE.

He's much better about losing now. But the winning? It has not changed one little bit.  He will sit there with that smug little hahaIbeatyou look on his stupid face and that annoyingashell-youlost grin. And then he opens his mouth and acts like he's accomplished some great and wonderful feat that is going to change the world.

Good thing I win most of the time. :)

What kind of winner- or loser- are you?

AND----

You still have time to enter to win a quart of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil! Just go to the post right HERE.

This post is part of the NaBloPoMo for May. The theme is PLAY. The prompt that inspired this post was:  "How did you feel as a child when you lost a game."
