A Surprise for Tucker

I suppose it isn't necessary to tell y'all that my little dog is spoiled. And, I further suppose that saying my little dog is spoiled is one of the biggest understatements of a lifetime. What can I say? I love my dog.

Tucker loves getting Easter baskets at Easter and presents on his birthday. But his favorite thing is his stocking on Christmas morning. Yes, he gets a stocking every year. He loves it.

He really gets 'into' it. Ha!

This year. besides the stocking, Santa got Tucky a subscription to BarkBox. His first box arrived on the 30th. He was interested at once!

Once he was in, we were both impressed! I'm not kidding, this was a pretty dang cool box of goodness for Tucker! I've tried a box subscription (for humans) in the past and was sorely disappointed. Not this time.

This thing had treats and chews and toys---

The first thing Tucker pulled out was the Pawstrami. And this ended up being his favorite thing in the box.

He came back quickly for another item---

I tried to put everything back in so y'all could see the booty. But Tucker wouldn't stop grabbing things and taking them out.

I asked him to please stop and wait just a minute. He did, but it was more like a second. And the blue toy was missing...

It's not that TuckyBug NEEDS these things, it's that he enjoys them so. And I like for my pup to be happy.

Would I recommend a BarkBox subscription? So far, yes. I'll keep y'all posted as the next two come in. If they continue being this impressive, we'll go for a longer subscription,

And now I'm sure y'all can see what I mean when I say that my first grandchild, a girl, due July 13, is already spoiled. I mean, if this is what I do for Tucker...

snazzyfido is a HIT!

Some of you may have heard that I am rather fond of my little pup, Tucker.

Ok, yes, that IS an understatement. It may even qualify of the understatement of the year. But look at him. Isn't he cute?

It's never a surprise, given my adoration for my sweet dog, that I give in to all things doggie related. So, when I saw the cute items offered by snazzyfido, I jumped right on it. I was not disappointed.

Call me crazy, you won't be the first, but Tucker truly loves getting mail. It's right up there with his Christmas stocking and Easter basket.

As I stated, I was not disappointed. Although Tucker was at first. Because, well, there were no treats in that package (not to worry, he did get a treat.) But there was a collapsible water bowl (great for traveling), an LED safety light (when the time changes and we have to have our morning walks in the dark, the light will be super helpful), a red seat belt tether (Ok, I use this to keep him from falling out of the car since he insists on sticking his head WAY out of the window, but hates the blow dryer go figure), AND----

The orange LED light and bowl are for Tucker's cousin (nephew? ha!), Strider.

A new collar complete with his name and my phone number! Yes, he's microchipped and he wears his rabies tag and another tag with my name and number on it, but you can never be too safe with your fur babies. The collar is made from organic bamboo webbing and I like that very much.

And doesn't it look snazzy? (See what I did there?)

There are several different colors from which to choose and the prices CANNOT be beat! The collar was only $6.95 and it was the most expensive item I bought! I do love a sale! And those prices are still on!

They've got leashes and various types of harnesses. But we didn't need those. Well, we didn't NEED any of it but I liked it and the price was right so...

No, I'm not getting anything from snazzyfido.com for this review. I'm happy with the products and thought y'all might like something like this for your fur babies.

Oh, the water bowl? It's perfect for Tucker. He weighs ten pounds. Strider, on the other hand weighs 55 pounds. That orange water bowl we ordered for him is going to be more like a shot glass.

Nature in November

It's election day and you know what that means. Yep, NO SCHOOL!

So what's a lowly computer lab teacher to do on a day off from school???? IF she can get her sweet little dog to wait a bit longer before going for a walk, she grabs her camera and little dog and heads out to find nature.

And that's just what Tuck and I did this morning.

The sun beat us but there was a lovely fog still hovering as well as mist on the pond near the trail--- one of my favorite things about fall is the fog that we get and the mist rising off the water.

I love to see the sun through the oaks--

and through the pines as we get closer to the marsh. The temperature is cooperating lately so our walk was chilly enough for a big, comfy sweater.

The tide was in this morning---

The path was a bit foggy---

But it lifted quickly and Tucker didn't seem to mind. He loves going down to the marsh because I might take his leash off---

There are just too many things to see, smell and pee on to be restricted by a silly leash---

That's the Sullivan's Island lighthouse in the background---

The morning was topped off with a nice hot cup of coffee--

Days off are the best.

What are y'all doing this morning?

Trash

The colder weather has hit us again, thankfully. It makes my morning walks with Tucker so much more enjoyable. You know, because I can breathe and I don't start sweating as soon as I open the front door.

Tuck and I love walking down to the marsh on the nature trail.

It's a nice walk, over 2500 steps on my Fitbit, with woods and a dog park---

---the marsh at the end----

---when the timing is just right, the sunrise---

---- birds searching for breakfast or just watching us pass by---

---and, sometimes, I practice taking those annoying selfies out there---

I also appreciate the time change as we got back home way earlier than usual. I like that. I am more of a morning person than a night person so, dark coming earlier won't bother me.

But there is something that bothers me. It bothers me a lot.

Yep. Those were waiting for us along the nature trail and at the end.

They're even more disgusting and distracting than those hideous power lines tampering with the beauty of the sunrise---

If I thought for one split second that the police would fingerprint those cans, go find the culprits and slap a HUGE fine on them, I would have taken those cans straight to the police station.

In my mind, it's kids. They've discovered that no one will come down there and catch them doing things they are not legally supposed to be doing.

I'll give them this though, they're brave. There is NO WAY I would go down that nature trail at night. Nature takes on a whole new perspective after the sun goes down.

Walking Along and Singin' A Song Fragment Style

This was one long week. But it always happens that way when it's a short week. Thanks to Mrs. 4444s, here's the week in fragments.

Half-Past Kissin' Time

The third week of school has ended. And I survived. Last year, we had a group of fifth graders who I think we would have passed to 6th grade even if they were all failing every single course just to get them out of the school. This year, it looks like kindergarten, third, fourth and fifth grades are a pure delight. Those first and second graders, on the other hand, are a different story altogether.

Tucker had a visit from the groomer this week. He might have been slightly less than thrilled at first--

But he soon recovered.

I bought a new game for my kindergarten students. It's a programming board game! I'm so excited about trying this out with them next week.

DoodleBug just returned from a trip to San Francisco and brought me these:

Based on this:

The lovelies and I laugh until we cry AND hurt every time we see this. Deanie used the skit for a project in Honors English for WUTHERING HEIGHTS and her teacher LOVED it. Yeah, I know. But I keep telling y'all that we're a crazy family. :) The tape is around here somewhere. If I ever find it, I'll share it.

We have some bad news in our neighborhood. The lady across the street from us had to move in with her son due to ill health. This was the bad news a few months ago. The bad new now is that they decided to rent her house out. To 5 college students. FIVE. In our family neighborhood. If nothing else, these five young students of the female variety (because I dare not call them ladies) are certainly supporting my theory that kids are now raised with a sense of entitlement and a total lack of common courtesy.

Last but not least, I fell in love this week. With Pete the Cat. The book starts at about 30 seconds. It's so much better when 25 kindergarten students are singing along, but it's still fun just by yourself. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend, y'all!

Happy Easter!

Hope y'all are having a marvelous Easter! (I almost wrote Christmas...LOL).

Birdie and Evan ended up coming over for lunch so I cooked AND- Tucker and Strider had a visit from the Easter Bunny:

For those of you who voted- a million thanks!!!

For those of you who missed it----
