Grandparenting is Grand

I could get all flowery and gushy but if you're a grandparent you already know what grandparenting is like and if you aren't your time will come so why do we need all that gush that's already been spouted here and on every other blog of a grandparent? Let's just get on with the good stuff. The photos!

When school is having a break while getting ready for the new school year, my sweet granddaughter and I get to spend some time together. We were so BUSY this week.

Bug (still working out a nickname I love) turned 2 last month and her sweet cousin will be turning 1 in another week. Since Puppy (still working out his nickname, too) LOVES balls, I decided to get him a big box full of beach balls so Bug and I worked on the project this week. Well, I worked on it while she played with it. I think it'll be a bit hit! Please notice her tee-shirt. "Wild Hair, Don't Care" and she doesn't.

One of my favorite things is chocolate milk and I happened to have a glass when Bug arrived one day.

Bug: "What's that?"
Me: "Chocolate milk."
Bug: "Have some?"
Me: "Sure! But don't tell your Mommy!"

I never got my glass of chocolate milk back. Which is fine because what grandkids want, grandmas give them. #amiright

When you want the dog to stay inside and play with you, you tell him. "Don't go outside, Tucker."

And you spend a good deal of time twirling and laughing. I think she needs one of those #twirlyskirts don't y'all?

The grandson was here over the weekend. He's been walking all over the place for a few weeks now and wow! what a difference in the amount of things he gets in to.

He loves knocking down towers I make with the big blocks.

Then again, he loves doing just about anything and yes that's a little sunburn on his little arms but that wasn't me. #justsayin #lol Hey, it matches his hair. Gosh, that #redhair, y'all!

Seriously, that boy will follow a ball anywhere or at least try to which often ends up in a self-inflicted predicament though this time he dodged the proverbial bullet.

We have the next birthday coming up Thursday and I'll be inundating the internet with pictures again next week!

Have a wonderful weekend, y'all!

Spring Break Grandma Style

A certain little face has been at my house all week because her school was closed for spring break so I might have tried to get a few pictures. Ha! Y'all know I went crazy. This little girl is all of 21 months old and makes me feel every single one of my own years. Today is our last day of spring break and I shall miss her terribly next week. Once I awaken from my recovery sleep. Ha!

Spring break, 2018

The number one thing I hoped for my grandkiddos was good health. Number two on the list is to be happy. Oh goodness, that childhood happiness is the best, isn't it?

Do y'all remember laughing at the seemingly slightest things with big hilarity?

And the constant jabbering. I usually tune most people out when they talk but when this little cutie talks, I listen because everything she shares is so interesting!

We've been outside a good bit this week having bubble parties, playing soccer, being cute...

Singing songs...

Scaling the fence (yep, she figured out how to get up there and back down all by herself because all by herself is just the way Bug prefers to do things)...

To play with the neighbor's doggies...

This little stinker has been all over the place this week. We've had big fun but this grandma is exhausted. The good kind.

Best. Spring. Break. EVER.

Did y'all enjoy spring break this week?

Why Grandma Smiles and Needs Hair Color

Happy Friday, y'all! It's been a whirlwind week around here. Baby M's mommy and daddy bought a house and this is moving week. The movers come tomorrow but they've been busy in between Baby M and their full-time jobs taking boxes over and getting things like the kitchen and the aquariums set up.

How do you get out of...er, I mean, how do you help your daughter's family move into their first home? You offer to take care of the baby. 😀

I haven't included the pictures of why my hair is graying quickly these days. Those would be the pictures of Baby M climbing on all things unstable. But I don't have those pictures becasue I am in catcher mode and can't catch the baby and snap a photo at the same time. I'm good, but not that good. Ha!

Here's a peek into my week:

It's always difficult to get the pants back on the baby. So, I do what I can. Technically, the pants are ON the baby.2

Baby M is still pulling up on EVERYTHING and letting go because she forgets SHE CAN'T WALK YET.

Which doesn't slow her down one bit. And yes, she thinks it's funny.

Just in case y'all thought she was always smiling...

She only does this when she's fighting a nap (and she wins the award for fighting naps) or Grandma is moving too slow.

Most of the time she's like this as she really is a happy baby.

There's a reason Grandma wears old clothes and her hair up when Baby M is here.

She's working hard on that pincer grasp.

Even with a spoon in her hand.

Sippy cups are brilliant these days. Remember how the water or juice went everywhere when our kids were little? Well, no more! When it hits the floor, the water stays in the cup. I love it!

Teething biscuits have changed, too. And they claim, right on the box, NO MESS. They lie. We still had a mess. Though not as bad as the Zwieback toast of old.

Sippy cups and Puffs. A magical combo.

The reason for Grandma's smile, her gray hair, and her heart full of joy.
